RB Series Plate Type Elastomeric Pad Bearings

Plate type elastomeric pad bearings can be classified into normal elastomeric pad bearings and PTFE elastomeric sliding pad bearings. The former one are composed of multi-layer rubber sheets inlaid in steel sheets before binding and sulfuration. Its great vertical rigidity is sufficient to bear the perpendicular load and reliably shift the pressure from the superstructure to the piers. Its high elasticity is adaptable to the rotation of the girder ends. Its shear deformation is sufficient to cope with the horizontal displacement of the superstructure. The rubber is of high vibration-resistant against the shocking from the moving load to the span and pier of the bridge.

 

PTFE elastomeric sliding pad bearings are made by sticking a PTFE plate to the same-sized normal elastomeric bearings, work by taking advantages of the low frication coefficient between the PTFE plate and the stainless steel plate beneath the girder to achieve the free horizontal displacement of the bearings and ensure a reliable movement.
